Quick bread type recipe that pairs beautifully with almost any meal
One of our family favourites – Cheddar Pan Biscuits! And if you want to kick them up to a whole other level, use smoked flour!! A HUGE game-changer!!!!

Cheddar Pan Biscuits

Equipment
- 1 Food processor or blender to grate or crumble cheese
- 1 Baking pan 9 x 9
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese I prefer coarsely crumbled in food processor/blender
- 1 Tbs baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F
- Place butter in 9 x 9 baking pan and heat in oven until melted
- Combine dry ingredients and cheese in mixing bowl
- Add milk and stir until everything is moistened
- Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead 9-10 times
- Roll or pat into 12×6 rectangle.
- Cut into 12 one inch wide strips
- Roll strips in the melted butter in pan
- Fold each strip in half and place in pans forming two rows
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until nicely browned
- Let sit in pan for 5-10 minutes to soak up any residual butter

Variations:
- Sprinkle garlic powder to taste in melted butter before rolling dough in it
- Use smoked flour for up to 1/3 of all-purpose. We smoke our own in our smoker.
- Add fresh or dried herbs of choice to batter and/or melted butter
